Every piece is hand-finished after you order. We cannot accept returns or exchanges for sizing issues (only for damaged or faulty items). Take a moment with this guide — and email us at hello@otakustudios.store before ordering if you're at all unsure.
Every OTAKU STUDIOS piece starts life as a vintage garment, so cuts aren't always factory-perfect. Use this guide as a starting point and always cross-check the measurements on the product page itself.

Garment-specific notes
Tees & long sleeves
Cut oversized — drop shoulder, boxy. If you usually wear a UK M fitted tee, an OTAKU M will sit looser. Want a relaxed-but-not-massive fit: take your usual size. Want full oversized: size up.
Hoodies, sweatshirts & fleece
Heavyweight, oversized. The cut already has 4–6cm of extra width built in. Take your usual size for a generous fit; size up only if you want it really baggy.
Bomber jackets & outerwear
Cropped at the waist, boxy through the chest. Sized to wear over a hoodie. If you're between sizes, size down for a cleaner silhouette, or up if you plan to layer heavily.
Tapestry & reworked denim jackets
One-of-one cuts — measurements vary. Always check the specific product page for chest, length, and shoulder dimensions on that exact piece.
How to measure yourself
- Chest: tape measure flat across the widest part of your chest, just under your armpits. Don't pull tight.
- Shoulder: from the bony point where your shoulder meets your neck, across to the same point on the other side.
- Length: from the highest point of the shoulder seam straight down to the hem.
Match those numbers to the garment measurements on the product page — not the size label. The label is a starting point; the measurements are the truth.

This costs you nothing. Returns aren't an option for sizing, so a 5-minute email saves both of us.
